Child Welfare South Africa Stellenbosch (CWSA: Stellenbosch) is a registered Non-governmental Organisation, better known as an NGO. The Organisation is a registered Child Protection Organisation, mandated by the Department of Social Development, Department of Justice, as well as the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, to act in and protect the welfare of the children within the boundaries of our area of jurisdiction, as being promulgated and articulated in the Children’s Act, Act 38 of 2005.
CWSA: Stellenbosch is one of 263 member organisations affiliated to our National organisation, responsible not only for the deliverance of social work services, but also outreach projects in communities within our areas of jurisdiction. CWSA: Stellenbosch is proud to be part of the largest non-profit, non-governmental organisation in the country, making good in our call to deliver early intervention, prevention as well as statutory work in the fields of child protection; and child and family care as well as development.
CWSA: Stellenbosch cherish a proud history of service to our marginalised communities with the committed support of our volunteers over a period of 99 years already.
We pride ourselves to be assisted by a group of highly skilled volunteers, ensuring that the organisation remains compliant in terms of all the required legislations and governance policies applicable to the NGO sector.
CWSA: Stellenbosch is mandated and registered in terms of the Children’s Act, Act 38 of 2005 to deliver services in the following areas:
- Idas Valley,
- Kayamandi, and,
- Eerste River Kleinvlei demarcated area.
